By exploring the concept of landscape in a graphic and contemporary way, Dufek investigates the dynamics of landscape, including the manipulation of what urban and rural landscape means to us.

Several reoccurring subject matter can be recognized, such as the relation with popular culture/media, as well as environmental issues.

Dufek manipulates and plays with the investigation of viewer’s expectations. Every piece is an example of an idea followed spontaneously by another.

BODY OF WORK

Jamie’s works often refer to social justice issues, and creates unexpected visual combinations from non-traditional materials such as plexi-glass, rocks, tiling putty, doilies and found objects. The different layers and textures in her pieces force the viewer to make their way through each piece in a new and unexpected way.
